22nd December 2015
We have started our Christmas holidays! Work is now officially finished for the year. Pencils packed away and phones diverted....you can't contact us even if you want to!
Suitcases packed and unpacked and repacked and unpacked and repacked for the 100th time (well, mine was)! Overweight and then underweight - give or take 100 grams - let's hope our home scales are spot on.
Not sure how I managed to get to Canada only a few months back, with a 23kg limit, for 5 weeks away, carrying camping equipment and clothing! Obviously I've learned nothing or I've forgotten it all. But I think the excitement of being in NZ and then spending 2 weeks on the Cook Islands after waiting 20 years to visit this idyllic tropical paradise, made me buy everything new. I don't think bringing 8 sets of bathers is excessive - but somehow Steven seems to think so! ha ha ha ha I might be in the mood for pink one day and blue the next - I am a girl after all.
Anyway - getting off point.... suitcases are packed and the car was loaded up and we are now snuggled in our comfy bed at the Park Royal at the Tullamarine Airport before our 4am wakeup call in the morning.
Steven has been busy checking out maps of NZ south island and working out our itinerary for the next 5 days whilst we have the Motorhome. Steve said he can't wait to see my face when we land in Queenstown. He seems to think I won't want to come back home and that I will want to stay. I guess I can always visit anytime its only across the "ditch". No spiders is a big draw card, especially after last nights huntsman that was as big as a dinner plate that ran across us last night whilst watching TV.
I am sure Clare will take good care of the spiders for us whilst we are gone. (Oh sorry Clare, did we not mention the spiders?) LOL You'll have to sleep with one eye open! lol (**insert evil laugh here**).
OK, off to bed we go - can't wait to start our next epic adventure together. The Adventures of Vicki & Steve & our TIKI Christmas Tour!! :)
